Four Chinese men arrested for murdering compatriot in Vietnam beach town

Khanh Hoa police arrested four Chinese men on Monday for stabbing a compatriot to death following a quarrel at a karaoke lounge.

After killing 25-year-old Tan Xueke in the living room of a shopping mall on Tran Phu Street in Nha Trang, a popular resort town in central Khanh Hoa province last Saturday, the group of four fled to the province. from Binh Thuan in the south-central region and Lam Dong province in the central highlands before returning to Khanh Hoa.

They were captured by police while hiding in Ninh Hoa Town, about 60 kilometers from Nha Trang.

Xueke was stabbed to death after he and his friends argued with the Chinese suspects at the karaoke lounge. He died while being taken to hospital. Police said the suspects knew the victim.

Nha Trang is a prime vacation destination for Chinese tourists. In 2018, the city welcomed more than 1.4 million Chinese tourists, up 56% from the previous year, accounting for more than half of its international arrivals.
