The resort town of Hoiana as part of a pilot project for trapped foreign tourists
The Hoiana casino complex (pictured) in Quang Nam province, Vietnam, confirmed to GGRAsia that it will be one of the tourist destinations capable of welcoming overseas guests as part of a “program of vaccination passport ”in this country.
Hoiana, whose investors include Suncity Group Holdings Ltd, has a foreign-only casino on the site.
“As a major destination not only in Quang Nam but also across Vietnam, Hoiana will be one of the first resorts to welcome international guests when the vaccine passport program for Quang Nam is approved and implemented,” said said the statement from Steve Wolstenholme, Managing Director and Chairman of Hoiana, in response to GGRAsia’s request.
Hoi An, a town in Quang Nam where the resort town of Hoiana is located, hopes by February of next year as soon as possible, to welcome foreign tourists fully vaccinated against Covid-19 from countries deemed to be at low risk of external transmission of the virus.
Hoiana CEO said: “Currently, we are ready for domestic travelers by improving our security program, encouraging staff vaccination and offering several attractive promotions for luxury stays and experiences. “
Regarding whether fully vaccinated foreign guests would be exempt from quarantine upon arrival in Vietnam; and if they would be limited to either staying within the resort grounds of Hoiana, or only visiting Hoiana and designated sites in Hoi An town, Mr Wolstenholme said: “Hoiana will follow specific government guidelines for the vaccine passport program when available. “
He added: “We will update our website and social media as soon as authorities release more specific information. Currently, we offer a quarantine service at one of the hotels in the resort for travelers returning from other provinces and overseas. “
